Manifesting is one of those self-improvement buzzwords that suggests magic and leads to confusing. Its hard to define what manifesting is because it often feels very woo woo or magical.
In this post, I want to help to demystify it for you. Rooted in the Universal Law of Attraction (like attracts like), the principles behind manifestation can truly be used to create anything you want in life.
Simply stated, the Law of Attraction says that energy acts like a magnet. Positive energy attracts equally positive energy. Negative attracts negative.
This helps to explain how when you’re feeling great, good stuff happens. And when you’re in a negative mindframe, all you can see is pain, suffering, hurt, upset…y’know, how everything is going wrong for you.
That’s why when it comes to manifesting the positive things you want to create in your life and business, it’s so important to surround yourself with positive, good vibes. In that state, you literally act like a magnet, pulling good energy toward you.
When someone says “high vibe,” they really mean positive, grateful, happy, and energetically “high.” We all want to hang with these high vibe people because they make us feel good, but those vibes also help us manifest.
In a recent blog post, I shared the story about how I didn’t get a Ford Mustang when I turned 16.
It is a deep disappointment I carry with me to this day… Kidding… the mustang was really my Dad’s dream, not mine.
While getting this car certainly required years of focused effort, (I no longer call it “hard work,”) I know I had an assist in getting exactly what I desired from the Universe. I manifested that sparkly car like no one’s business.
Applying focused effort for a long period of time sets you up for lots of rewards, but wouldn’t you love to have a little fun and get your reward sooner rather than later? Want to skip the long, hard slog and wandering wondering how you’ll ever get what you want? Thought so!
That’s where these 7 simple manifesting steps come in and they’re easy to follow. Crazy easy. Fun, too. Here’s my step-by-step guide to manifesting.
(P.S. If the word Universe doesn’t resonate for you, substitute a word that does. We’re all describing the same unseen, universal energy that we can all collectively feel, so the name you use is totally up to you.)
The very first step, before you even can get to work, is wanting something. I mean, how can the Universe give you something you didn’t ask for? Like my mother always said, “You have to tell me what you want, I can’t read your mind!”
Desire it. Deeply. And make the internal decision that it’s yours.
After you’ve decided this thing is yours, completely and totally define all the details of the thing you want.
Really go into the details so you’re clear on not only the desired outcome, but how the desired outcome feels.
Not only do I want you to write down every little characteristic about the thing itself, but I want you to visualize getting what you want, how you’ll feel when you have it, the things you’ll do with it.
Don’t worry that you’re “asking for too much” or “being greedy.” You aren’t. It’s impossible to ask the Universe for too much.
Success tip: If you realize you’re asking for less than what you want, it’s usually because you don’t actually believe that, A) what you want exists or can exist, or B) that you’re worthy of it. Neither of these beliefs is actually true. Return to Step 1, define exactly what you want, and dream bigger this time.
Release all attachment to how that thing will show up. Release all attachment to the specific details.
You don’t get to control any of the hows — that’s up the to the Universe to worry about.
Trust me, if you try to micromanage the Universe, you’ll only be disappointed.
Take 1 million little steps toward the thing you want, or in a direction that remotely resembles the direction you think would be toward the thing you want. And by 1 million I do not literally mean 1 million, I just mean do not give up or quit.
You don’t have to be manic, but you can’t stop exploring and being curious about how the end result will show up.
I call this Playing Baseball with the Universe. It’s batting practice and you’re just swinging at any pitch she serves you. It doesn’t matter if it looks like you won’t connect, you’ll hit a foul, or you’ll strike out. Just keep swinging.
Taking Imperfect action is the key to success.
Stay keenly aware of the process and pay close attention to what seems like a “yes” sign.
Move towards and do more of the things that bring you closer to the end result (thing) you want. Do more of what’s resonating, working, and producing signs that point to yes.
Now, this isn’t micromanaging the outcome, this is just taking Step 4 and replicating the good results so you have a better chance of connecting and hitting a homerun.
Don’t get discouraged. Okay, that’s actually B.S. – you’re going to get discouraged.
But DO NOT STOP. The moment you stop is the moment when things get all out of whack.
Success Tip: The moment you stop pursuing your goal is the moment you fail. You can’t fail unless you stop trying.
It’s natural to desire and move toward many things you want, all at once. The end results you get are a sum of all the actions you take in the “right” direction. It’s possible to work on multiple desires at once as long as you stay in tune with everything.
And if, occasionally, you realize a desire has gotten out of alignment with all the others, you can release it or set it down.
This may be painful. But you cannot go left and right at exactly the same time. Tough choices may be required throughout this process. Those tough choices will also lead to greater clarity and you’ll manifest with much greater speed.
Prepare to be amazed as you watch, day-by-day, step-by-step, as you begin to find yourself getting exactly what you desire. I find that, most of the time, what you receive as a result of this process is better than you ever imagined it could be.
Ready to take action??
